The olive oil tastings at Quinta da Amendoeira are designed to create an immersive and sensory experience that combines the authenticity of Retalhos olive oil, produced at the Quinta itself, with the tradition and prestige of Cartuxa (Évora) and the artisanal, limited-edition character of Amor é Cego olive oil (Azaruja).
The Alentejo region offers exceptional conditions for olive tree cultivation and olive oil production, resulting in unique quality and flavour.

Quinta da Amendoeira
The olive oil that tells the story of the Quinta.
Virgin olive oil (0.88% acidity), hand-harvested, from an organic olive mill. Intense golden colour, with notes of freshly cut grass and walnut. Sweet at first, with a slight spicy touch and an almond finish.
Served with still-warm bread, straight from the wood-fired oven.
Cartuxa
Évora
The olive oil of the cloisters, a symbol of devotion and time.
Extra virgin olive oil, a blend of Galega and Cobrançosa varieties. Medium fruity profile, with notes of green apple and olive leaf.
Served with lightly toasted bread from the edge of the wood-fired oven.
Amor é Cego
Azaruja
Sourced from a dry-farmed olive grove approximately 72 years old, hand-harvested and milled on the very same day — a tribute to traditional knowledge.
Extra virgin olive oil, cold extracted, with a maximum acidity of 0.1%. Ripe fruity profile, with notes of tomato and dried fruits, finishing with a slight spicy touch.
Served with bread featuring a more pronounced crust.

In our olive oil tastings in Alentejo, we bring together three different visions. One is born from weathered hands and centuries-old olive trees. Another comes from monks and ancient walls. The third tells the story of preserving family olive oil heritage and sustainability.
All these olive oils come together here, over warm bread, a symbol of the connection between time, fire and earth. Three Territories. One Bread. The same Alentejo.
